Our alumni volunteer and work with SCI in many different ways. The Industry Advisory Council, staffed with alumni, advises the department in strategic planning and assists the department in accomplishing its teaching, research and service mission objectives.

Edmund Morales, class of 2006, graduated with more than just his bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was one of the fortunate graduates to have been offered a job before the commencement ceremony. APS hired him one month before the December convocation.
Through an APS scholarship, Morales received financial help as well as an opportunity to intern with the company. He apprenticed for more than a year before being hired full time.
Morales was also a recipient of a Los Diablos scholarship and named a Jose Rondstadt Outstanding Undergraduate Student by the ASU Hispanic Convocation. In January, Morales was recognized by Pinnacle West, the parent company of APS, for being a “talented new employee.”
