Camp Game

Camp GameCampGame is a unique experience for middle and high school students in intensive video game creation, visualization and production. Students will work with a faculty experienced in the game industry to create concepts and prototypes for games using the latest software, hardware and development tools.

Middle School Program: A two week program which introduces middle school students to the fascinating world of video games. Students learn problem solving and game design skills by creating simple 2D computer games. Note: Accepting applications for wait list only. Camp is currently full.

High School Programs: Students have three tracks to choose from:

  • A two week video game art camp that teaches cutting edge industry standard 2D/3D art production and integration with the Unreal 3 game engine.
  • A two week video game design camp that teaches level design creation and implementation along with basic scripting using the Unreal 3 engine.
  • A six week intensive camp that teaches all aspects of video game production and development and places the students inside of teams where they take on specific roles and create a fully functional video game prototype.

Robotics Camp

Robotics CampASU’s Robotics Camp is a summer program series designed for high school students who intend to pursue a science and engineering career. The camp is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Intel and the School of Computing and Informatics at Arizona State University. Camp instructors use component-based robot construction, robotics programming and Alice game programming as a vehicle to teach the latest engineering design concepts and computing technologies. The robots built by students will enter a robotics competition and demonstration.

The camp will be taught by Dr. Yinong Chen and his teaching assistants. Dr. Chen is a computing and robotics expert, who led ASU teams to win champion titles in the "Ultimate Architecture Sumo-Robot Competition" in Las Vegas in 2005 and 2006. Dr. Chen is also the organizer of the Arizona Robotics Challenge Series, sponsored by Intel, and previous Robotics Camps (2006-2008).

RoboticsCamp7up 2009: June 8 to June 25, 2009, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This camp is designed for both middle and high school students. Afternoon program is optional. Camp Location: ASU Tempe Campus

Robotics Camp 2009: July 7 to July 17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
