Our graduates find employment working in anything from computer and software design to development of information technologies. Their jobs are often distinguished by the high level of theoretical expertise they apply to solving complex problems and the creation and application of new technologies. Jobs may include programming language design, developing and advancing uses of virtual reality in robotics, designing programming tools and knowledge-based systems, as well as computer games. Computer engineers emphasize the building of prototypes, working with both hardware and software design and development. Computer engineers generally apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to the design of hardware, software, networks and processes to solve technical problems. They often work as part of a team that designs new computing devices or computer-related equipment, systems or software.
Jobs may include computer hardware engineer, software engineer and software developer. While these professionals possess strong programming skills, they are more involved with analyzing and solving programming problems than with the creation of those programs. Degree Requirements
Integrated Bachelor/Master Degree Program

The CSE department is offering an integrated B.S./M.S. or B.S.E./M.S. program for students currently admitted in the B.S. in Computer Science or the B.S.E. in Computer Systems Engineering degree. Students can use six to nine credits of graduate course work toward undergraduate degree requirements, depending on catalog year and degree. This allows students to graduate with both degrees in five years of full-time course work. Degree Requirements
